This is true. She (now Cindy Spandenberg) had a very visible affair during the late 80s. I saw them together on many occasions. They were both married at the time and attended numerous aviation functions in Ventura County together. They seemed to enjoy flaunting themselves in public.

Thanks for confirming this. I think the name of Cunningham's former mistress of Camarillo is spelled Cindy Spangenberg.

If it was in the 1980s, that would be while Duke Cunningham was married to his second wife, Nancy Cunningham.

I was involved with a "flaunter" - between wives. Her only challenge was keeping her schedule straight . . . "who am I sleeping with tonight?"

Funny, I was living in Camarillo, CA at the time, had my P-210 hangered at Camarillo airport, also during the late '80s. All of these chanteusie women in Camarillo, it must have been something in the water . . .

OK, I don't understand something. The airport at Camarillo is just some little airport for private planes. It has few or no scheduled flights and has no Navy presence.

Am I missing something here? What's a Navy pilot doing at Camarillo?

I just talked to a stock broker friend this weekend who said that Duke was a guest of honor at some of the airshows there (Oxnard, Pt. Mugu) and that's when he met Cindy Legan. My friend was at a banquet for one of the shows where Cindy introduced Duke before his talk and gave him the "Top Buns" award. Most people there knew that Duke was married at the time.
