My proudest achievement is my support “Dolphin Death Bill,” HR 2823, allowing capture and killing of dolphins with tuna (55,000/year), yet still allow the so-called “dolphin safe” label. It became became law in 1997, You know it’s a lot cheaper to fish for tuna if tuna fishers don’t have to worry about separating the dolphins out from the tuna. Besides everything processed by a tuna packing plant, including dolphins, comes out tasting and looking like tuna. Yum yum! But I could fool the public. In one newsletter I stated as my sole environmental accomplishment was replenishing sand for local beaches (I hope nobody figures out dumping munitions-laden sand from off of San Diego Bay does nothing to protect the environment!).

The Humane Society says I’m a “menace to any furred, feathered, or finned creature.” Humbug—I say the only good animal is a dead animal.
