It is my understanding that he gets to walk away with his pensions and all of his re-election campaign fund war chest(s). Anyone have an idea how large his re-election war chest(s) is?

Duke gets to keep his pension, but not his campaign funds.

Campaign funds, last I heard, can't be legally used for personal expensses—even after a campaign or after retiring or resigning. California prohibits this (since 1981), as does Congress (since 1992). It is allowed in other states for non-Congressional races.

I seem to recall that when it all first hit the fan that he got permission from some body to spend up to $1.5 million for legal defense.
