I'm sure the prosecutors are already leaning heavily on the four co-conspirators as well as Cunningham himself to implicate others in exchange for more lenient treatment. So who will they name? Hunter's name gets mentioned a lot, but who else? Do just a few corrupt businessmen and politicians really know enough to bring down the whole dirty scheme, or is it too well compartmentalized?

The politically motivated diversion of government money toward wasteful and unnecessary projects is endemic in the United States. But how much of it is actually illegal — and can be proved so — as opposed to ordinary naivety and incompetence?

I believe that this will go beyond Cunningham and the 4 co-conspirators. Any names that will get leaked, whether indicted or not, will be politically ruined. The last article that I listed above has Duncan Hunter’s name mentioned all over it with Cunningham’s and Delay. He may be toast also.

As I believe R. Middlemas said, this is going to become a lot bigger before it is over. I think that the Feds have cast a pretty wide net. And most of the net is still in the water.

I know a good man from way back in my Navy days. He was a Cunningham supporter. The guy is absolutely devastated over the betrayal. Cunningham has been his hero since he popped those 3 MiG 17s on that fateful day, May 10, 1972. He was always an apologist for Cunningham’s boorish behavior, always cutting him slack because he was the war hero and a conservative or claiming that the reports were over-blown.

I think that there is a lot of this going on out there . . . Cunningham supporters absolutely devastated by these events. This is in contrast to the few of us who knew the guy and always found him defective and are not surprised one bit.
OK, whose turn is it to get the popcorn while we sit and watch this thing play out!
