Well, I think only a narcissist would still be passing out ancient pictures of himself to strangers in a marina. Indeed, Cunningham hasn't flown or been able to squeeze into a flight suit in a decade or two. But by his own hand, his incredible hype lives on, 33 years later. Those pictures seem to be everywhere.

Of course, the only true Navy heroes in the news this week were the 4 unfortunate Navy SEAL's on their ill-fated, clandestine mission in Afghanistan, and, the passing of a national treasure, Medal of Honor recipient, and former POW, Adm. James Stockdale.

I seriously doubt that those SEAL's, or the Admiral would have ever stooped so low as to put their images on a Buck Knife, and then crassly hawk it on their own website, or pass out 8x10 glossies to any and all for 30 years.

Cunningham didn't need this current bribery scandal to tarnish the image of a Navy hero. He's been working at it for years.

Old fatso Duke has a lame explanation of his bribe taking on his website. Since there is no defense, he resorts to the patriotic war veteren hype. This crook is desperate, as there is no logical explanation other than impropriety. The Duke wants to preserve his lucrative pension and that house in Rancho. "Duke" has been preempted by the handle "Rancho Randy". Get him out of office!

El Rancho Randy . . . it has a ring to it!
