ENCINITAS

Cottonwood Park: Chairs and blankets are welcome at a community celebration from 8 to 10:30 a.m. July 4 at the park at Encinitas Boulevard and Vulcan Avenue. A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Registration for a decorated-bike contest begins at 9 a.m. Children's activities will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. There will be a program at 9:30 a.m. by Camp Pendleton Young Marines, chaplain Daniel Stephens and keynote speaker Rep. On Friday July 9 Duke Cunningham is scheduled to attend the opening of Metropolitan Transit's new light-rail line. 3:30 p.m. at San Diego State University's Transit Center.

I just heard Cunningham's July 4th appearances in Encinitas and the Del Mar fair are both cancelled.

No word on July 9th.

That's allright—he rarely appeared before his recent troubles. He's in a "safe" district after all (or used to be).

Dump Cunningham - the sooner the better..

Even his damage control and avoidance tactics are unoriginal...all he is doing is trying to “egress” a hot area...through the "danger zone".

Too bad he didn't think to "check six" a little earlier.

Hey Randy, got a question for you: If you are innocent, why are you hiding? Why do you run? Don't your buddies in your district deserve a bit more? But then, it was never about them, was it? It was and is, about you.

I am sure Delay is counseling him on what to do. Delay is, after all, far more experienced at this sort of thing...
