I think flying against MIGs during the Vietnam war would be pretty goddamn scarrry! He has my respect for that one.

Normally, military service would have my respect, but not in every case. I can't support a man who lies and makes up stories about a "Col. Toon," who never existed. I can't support a man who breaks into his Commanding Officer's files and looks at his own and his coworker's personnel files. I can't support a man who shoots down MIGs at the end of the war, after it's too late anyway, just to try and get a commission.

The Department of Defense determined that his fifth MIG kill was Col. Toon, not Cunningham.

Do you really think he made the decision to fly to the areas where he engaged enemy aircraft? I don't think he was making those decisions as a junior officer. Do you really think that he (and many other pilots) should have not defended themselves when encountering those enemy aircraft? I thought it was their job - their duty to destroy the enemy until told not to do so.
