I read Seth Hettena's new book, Feasting on the Spoils, about Duke Cunningham. I was expecting a lot of duplication from Marcus Stern et al.'s book, The Wrong Stuff. Suprisingly there wasn't. Stern's book focused more on the investigation into the corruption. Hettena's book focused more on the early years in the military, Cunningham's running for office, and years as Congressman, as it devolved into corruption.
Both books covered the latter years as Congressman, with the bribes, lavish spending, and dishonest military contracts obtained by Cunningham.
Interestingly, Hettena says the Watergate hookers never happened (where Wilkes arranged hookers during his poker games). The hookers at the Hawaii trip with Cunningham did occur, however.
